Seven months after the sudden death of her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams appears to have found happiness again. Williams and Jonze, 38, have been spotted together several times near the film-maker's £1.5million New York apartment in recent weeks.

magazine reports the former Dawson's Creek actress, 27, has started dating film director Spike Jonze, ex-husband of Lost In Translation director Sofia Coppola.

His daughter Matilda Ledger will be the recipient of his Oscar for Il cavaliere oscuro (2008) when she turns 18.

Up until then the statuette will be in custody of his father Kim Ledger, mother Sally Bell and sister Kate Ledger, per Academy rules.

She began her career with television guest appearances, and made her feature film debut in Lassie (1994), which earned her a Youth in Film nomination.

But now it appears she finally has something to smile about again, thanks to a burgeoning romance with Jonze.

American magazine Star reports Williams was seen kissing Jonze outside his Lower East Side Manhattan apartment on July 2nd.

His work comprised nineteen films, including 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Patriot (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Monster's Ball (2001), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), the latter two being posthumous releases.

For his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain, Ledger won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and Best International Actor from the Australian Film Institute, and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role Posthumously he shared the 2007 Independent Spirit Robert Altman Award with the rest of the ensemble cast, the director, and the casting director for the film I'm Not There, which was inspired by the life and songs of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
